Ifor Williams Trailers Ltd was established in 1958 and to date has manufactured over half a million trailers. We are Britain’s largest manufacturer of trailers up to 3500kg gross weight, manufacturing trailers for a wide variety of purposes.

The wide product range includes Livestock, Horse Float, General Duty, Tipper, Plant, Flatbed, Box Van trailers and Car Transporters, as well as ute Canopies - a standard range of well over a thousand variants! The customer base is equally wide, from farmers and show jumpers to builders and plumbers.

The company's philosophy is to produce high quality trailers that combine high technology with strength, durability, ease of maintenance and value for money. An advanced Computer Aided Design and Manufacturing system is used and the company makes sure the opinions of its customers are incorporated into its research and development activities: trailers are designed to meet the needs of real people doing real jobs.

A high percentage of parts are produced to the company's own designs, including axles, chassis and most body parts. Purchased parts and materials are sourced from approved manufacturers who are able to satisfy the demands set for consistent high quality. Rigorous checks are made continuously on self-manufactured components and those it buys in.

An on-site galvanizing plant gives the company total control over quality and efficiency in the production of chassis and other assemblies. Further investments continue to be made in new facilities under a programme of improvements in manufacturing methods, materials handling systems, the products themselves and customer service.

The company invests heavily in the latest manufacturing technology. Facilities include automated material stocking systems and extensive use of CNC equipment including lasers, plasmas, punches and presses. Trailers are produced at four main manufacturing sites across North Wales.

Product distribution is handled by over fifty main distributors in the UK and a growing network of subsidiaries and independent distributors across Europe and the rest of the world. Exports account for around 25 percent of sales.

Slavery and human trafficking are totally unacceptable, and we will not tolerate forced labour of any description within our business or in our supply chains. We recognise the complexity of this issue, in supply chains and we are committed to tackling those risks through our policies, auditing and supplier management.

Our objective is to achieve higher ethical standards in this regard and as a minimum, we will comply with all relevant legislation. We recognise our responsibility to be alert to the risks of modern slavery and human trafficking in all our daily activities – our managers are expected to act upon any concerns, matters raised, without delay.

This statement sets out the action we have taken, to identify, understand and address risks of modern slavery and human trafficking in our own business and in our supply chains.

Our Human Resource Managers are the key contact for issues relating to modern slavery and human trafficking within our operations.

Our Head of Purchasing and Materials Management has been identified as the key contact for modern slavery and human trafficking within our supply chains and for carrying out the modern slavery and human trafficking risk analysis of suppliers.

Employee code of conduct 

Our code makes clear to employees the actions and behaviour expected of them when representing our organisation. We strive to maintain the highest standards of employee conduct and ethical behaviour when operating abroad and managing its supply chain.

Supplier code of conduct 

We are committed to ensuring that its suppliers adhere to the highest standards of ethics. Suppliers are required to demonstrate that they provide safe working conditions where necessary, treat workers with dignity and respect, and act ethically and within the law in their use of labour. We work with suppliers to ensure that they meet the standards of the code and improve their worker's working conditions. However, serious violations of our supplier code of conduct will lead to the termination of the business relationship.

Due diligence and compliance

As part of our initiative to identify and mitigate risk, we undertake due diligence when considering taking on new suppliers and periodically review our existing suppliers’ base.

Our due diligence includes:

•           Assessing whether or not particular activities, countries, or regions are high risk in relation to slavery or human trafficking by consulting supplier auditors/or assessments.

•           In this regard we consider suppliers from Eastern Europe and/or Asia to be potentially higher risk – and these assessments/audits will have a greater degree of focus.

•           Evaluating the modern slavery and human trafficking risks of each new supplier.

On-going commitment to combatting modern slavery

We will seek to periodically measure how effective we have been to ensure that modern slavery is not taking place in any part of our business or supply chains. We will also provide training to key employees so that they can identify and understand what modern slavery is, how to report concerns so that they can support and facilitate our ongoing commitment to combating modern slavery.

This statement is made pursuant to section 54 (1) of the modern Slavery Act 2015, constitutes our modern slavery statement for financial year ending April 2023. It was approved on January 6^th 2025 by our Human Resources Department who review and update it annually.
