The Ifor Williams, Mobile Clinical Unit, is an innovative solution which has been designed to increase clinical capacity, whilst prioritising the safety of patients and staff and allowing for flexible use in a variety of healthcare contexts.
By working in collaboration with doctors and key stakeholders within the health service, we have been able to understand the challenges that they are facing and have designed a solution that should have a positive impact for both clinical staff and patients.
The Mobile Clinical Unit provides a number of solutions, not only as a safe and separate area for Covid-19 patient assessments, but also for wider clinical practice and other applications.
The Mobile Clinical Unit has separate entry points for patients and staff, to minimise direct contact. A separate antechamber links the staff entrance to the main consultation room. This separate space allows plenty of storage and gives members of clinical staff an area to safely prepare for the consultation and put on the necessary Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
The consultation room is large enough to ensure that 2m social distancing can be maintained, when direct contact with the patient is not required. The Mobile Clinical Unit has minimal surfaces to help with ease and speed of cleaning in between patient use.
Windows within the consultation room provide important ventilation with screens to ensure patient privacy.
Vinyl graphics can be used to add a logo, or for maximum impact, the whole trailer can be covered in a detailed wrap, giving your Mobile Clinical Unit visual appeal, branding, or even visual instructions for patients.

Separate Entry Points for Staff and Patients

Separate Antechamber with Worktop, Fixed Storage and Deployable Plastic Storage Containers
The separate Antechamber can be used for the storage of Clinical Equipment or as an area for your staff to complete paperwork and keep personal items safe.
Large Consultation Room
Featuring a Large Consultation Room where patients can either sit at a desk or can lay on a surgical style bed. Either way there is plenty of room for your staff and patients to feel comfortable and not feel enclosed.
Windows with Privacy Screens
The Windows installed inside of our Mobile Clinical Units have built-in enclosed Blinds that ensure Maximum Privacy for your Staff and Patients, making them feel at ease.
12V Wall Lights, 230V Ceiling Lights and Rooflights Providing Natural Light and Ventilation
The MCU combines 12v Lighting so that when you arrive at your destination you have lighting readily available and then connect your MCU to the Mains Electricity via the Electrical Hook-Up giving you Mains Powered Roof Lights. Our MCU also incorporates Rood Mounted Clear Panels to maximise on available sunlight and conserve power. There is also a central roof vent that can easily be opened offering plenty of fresh air.
Minimal Surfaces
We keep the inside of the MCU Basic to allow for Rapid Cleaning and Sanitation either between patients or at the start and end of the day.
Heater- 230V
Our MCU incorporates a Mains Powered Electrical Heater that keeps the inside of the Mobile Clinical Unit at a nice controlled temperature, making it a comfortable environment for both your Staff and Patients.
12V Battery, 230V charger
Whilst the MCU is connected to the Mains Power via the Electrical Hook-up, it is also charging your 12v Battery so that it is fully charged each time it is required.
Vinyl Wrapping
Our Mobile Clinical Units can be fully wrapped by our in-house graphics team and featuring your own artwork or practice logo and contact details.
Access Steps *Note that for Patient Access a Large Double Step will be provided with Handrail
Our MCU can be supplied with Access Stairs for the Staff and Patient entry. The patient steps can be provided as a double step with an attached Handrail for ease of Entry & Exit. At the rear of the Mobile Clinical Unit there is a Large Door Where a Disabled Entry Ramp or Lift can be installed, making our MCU Wheelchair Accessible.
Mains Electricity Hook Up
Standard Mains Power electrical Hook-up to allow you to connect the MCU to an external mains power source where it can run lighting or other items of Clinical Equipment.
Rear Propstand / Front Corner Steadies
Our Mobile Clinical Unit features Rear Prop Stands and Front Corner Steadies. These, when deployed keep the trailer from moving or rocking when patients or staff are moving around. Ideal for the sick and elderly or those with difficulty moving.
Vinyl Flooring
Our Mobile Clinical Units are floored with Vinyl Flooring that offers a clean look interior, but the practicality for cleaning up spills and for sanitation of the area after exposure to bodily fluids etc.

Coupling Lock
Our Ifor Williams Coupling Lock fits neatly around the Coupling Head to make the theft of your trailer much more difficult. Manufactured from High-Grade Steels and a durable Powder Coated Finish. The Lock is a High Security Lock which features an Anti-Drilling Barrel. For extra piece of mind we also supply an additional High Security Barrel which will fit into a Lockable Coupling Head so that one key will open both the Coupling Lock and the Coupling Head Barrel.
